In late 2019 AEMO called for nominations for a number of Discretionary Information Exchange Committee (IEC) positions to apply for a 12 month period from 1 March 2020. The IEC is a statutory body established under the National Electricity Rules responsible for developing and making recommendations on changing B2B Procedures. The role and responsibilities of the IEC are defined by the NEM Rules, the IEC Operating Manual, and the IEC Election Procedures. These vacancies on the Committee were due to completion of terms for existing members, and seeking to fill the existing vacancy of a B2B Third Party representative.

AEMO are very happy to advise that Doug Ross has been successful in his application to become the discretionary metering member of the IEC.

The IEC meets at a minimum of four times per year, with the first meeting that Doug can attend being on 25th May 2020.

The agenda for the IEC is circulated approximately 2 weeks prior to the meeting, with papers circulated shortly afterwards.  AEMO meeting rooms are made available in Melbourne, Sydney and (generally) Brisbane and teleconference information is also available for members who are unable to attend the meeting in person.

Documentation relating to the IEC, including minutes and papers from previous meetings, Annual Reports from 2018 and 2019 and the IEC Election Procedures and Operating Manual, these can be found at the following AEMO webpage. https://www.aemo.com.au/consultations/industry-forums-and-working-groups/list-of-industry-forums-and-working-groups/information-exchange-committee
